Emergency Services Restored in Multiple States After Widespread Outages

Las Vegas, Nevada – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) announced the restoration of emergency services just before 9:15 p.m. PT. “9-1-1 phone service has been restored,” LVMPD confirmed on X (formerly Twitter). “Everyone who contacted during the outage has been called back and assisted. Non-emergency calls are also working. As usual, please do not dial (911 Services Operational Again in Certain States) unless you have an emergency.”

Nevada State Police also confirmed via X that service had been restored in Southern Nevada’s Clark County, which includes Las Vegas and Henderson, both of which had experienced earlier disruptions.

South Dakota – The statewide emergency calling system went down Wednesday night, as confirmed by Pierre police. However, early Thursday morning local time, the Highway Patrol announced the system had been restored. “Service has been restored on the South Dakota 911 system,” SDHP posted on X. “Our emergency system is fully operational and ready to respond quickly to any situation. Your safety is our main priority, and we are here to make sure that aid is always available when you need it. Do not dial 911 as a test.”

Nebraska – Dundy County and neighboring areas experienced outages, reported on Facebook by the sheriff’s office. Despite the issues, both the non-emergency line and (911 Services Operational Again in Certain States) texting services remained operational.

Texas – Several localities, including Del Rio and Kilgore, faced power disruptions. The Kilgore Police Department reported intermittent outages on Facebook and instructed residents to call 903-983-1559 ext. 1 for emergencies.
